Kassiani Goulakou aka Nanuki is a composer and media artist from Athens, Greece. She holds a BA degree in Art History and Theory from the Athens School of Fine Arts, a BA degree in Classical Piano from the Kodaly Conservatory of Athens and a MA degree in Sound Studies and Sonic Arts from the University of Arts Berlin.

She works with music, sound and video.

As a pianist, she experiments with the sound of acoustic and electric pianos combining her classical training with jazz, and popular music arrangements. As a composer she loves working with drum machines and analog synthesisers creating fusion beats and immersive soundscapes.

In 2021, she started releasing her music under the alias Nanuki.

Besides writing music as a solo artist, she is also composing music for film and video installations, as well as working as a video producer and colourist.

Her work have been shown and heard at Para Site (HK), Science Gallery London (GB), Haus der Statistik (DE), KW Institute for Contemporary Art (DE), Haus Der Kulturen Der Welt (DE), Modular+ Space (DE), SoundsAbout (DE), gallery Kunstarkaden (DE), gallery Kunstbau Lenbachhaus (DE), GOLD+BETON (DE), Circuits and Currents (GR). 

 

Her music is released by the independent label Ribbontail Berlin.

 

In 2019, she founded together with Fausto Mujica Underpaid Mantis an audiovisual studio focusing on documenting and producing artistic works.

She is currently living and working in Berlin.
